I am always surprised by how fast babies grow the first year. I can't believe Naomi will be 1 yr old in a month! She is getting around on her own by crawling and cruising... i won't be surprised if she is walking by her birthday. We started putting shoes on her when she is outside cruising on things. I was so afraid she would pitch a fit like Nathan did for so long... but she is easily distracted. She has been bare foot up until now. I found some cute stage 2 stride rite shoes for 14$ at an outlet in Phillie and was so proud! She has a bigger foot than i thought b/c the size 4 is not going to fit for long! She is chattering and mimicking so much. She is eating a lot of table food... well just fruit and plain veggies (I am still scared to death about her allergies.) She is doing everything a lot earlier than Nathan. Well there is one thing ... she still has zero teeth and no sign of them. Nathan had four teeth by 8 mos! It is kinda funny.. her smile is still so gummy. She looks kinda like an old woman with her gums, short hair and pot belly. She is so much fun right now and for the most part entertains herself and Nathan.

Nathan too... is growing up. He is in the very, very picky stage of eating. I can list the items he will eat on one hand! He is so active and pretty scrawny. He looks so skinny and cute in his " big boy underware." Oh... we have been attempting potty training. It wasn't a one day miracle... but over the past week he gradually made the transition. He has done great. I think he is highly motivated by the skittles! There usually is an accident once a day... but he gets pretty upset when he doesn't quite make it. So, we will see. It sure would be nice to only invest in diapers for 1.

Eric and I are growing too. Hopefully not too much physically, I am still trying to get this baby weight off! The Lord has taught us a ton right now with people . I am so thankful for where he has us!

Here are some fun pictures from playing outside in the Macon heat.

This is a funny shot... it shows you how flexible he is all in a ball in this basket he likes to fall out of.

Beach Vacation with the Ashley's

Well, if you read my previous blog about me going to Phillie and started feeling bad for Eric having the kids... don't feel too bad for him. He got to take them along with GiGi and Papa to St. Augustine and I met them on Monday. We are so thankful we get to go on Vacation with his family. They are so generous to spoil us and of course the babes.

Naomi warmed up to the Ocean. She constantly made noise... kind of grumbling. I think she was annoyed by the sand and water at first and at me trying to keep her clean. Eventually she got used to it and we gave up trying to keep her clean. I am sure she ate a few cups of sand.

Nathan loved the ocean and spent the whole time "jumping " the waves with Daddy, Papa and GiGi, Uncle Todd, Aunt Kathryn, and when my hands were free me!

Oh how fun!

Sweet Girl!

Sibling fun!

Can you believe they both stood still for a moment!

Pool fun with Daddy

Oh, this was after the beach... but if you can't make it out Eric celebrated his 31st birthday on July 14th. We were able to have some friends over and eat cupcakes. Eric said it meant a lot to him that people would take time out to be with him on his birthday!

I got to go the Philadelphia early July this year for my annual girls trip. I get together once a year with some friends I made when I worked in Jacksonville Fl. This is our 5th reunion and this year we decided to visit one of the girls that live in Phillie. We actually were very patriotic because we all flew in on the 4th and spent the day in the city checking out the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and a fireworks display and concert in the rain! I am so thankful for these women, it was so refreshing to be with them. We spent 90 % of our time laughing. A few are single, a few are married and a few are married with kids. A few of them noticed that I talked so much on this trip... I think I didn't realized how much I need adult interaction with people that love and care for me... I really was chatty the whole time! Babies only allow you to use a limited vocabulary. Here a few pictures from the weekend... but i can't capture the amount of fun we had. Eliza was an amazing host and carted us all around Phillie, Amish Country, Deleware and cute coffee shops!

Jenny and Nicole posing beside an Amish statue in Amish country. I actually high-fived this guy!

A Phillie steak cheese vender. I can't believe i really ate from this hut... i was starving and it tasted wonderful!

Here are some of the amazing women I got to learn, laugh and be myself with ! Jenny, Nicole, Eliza, Amy, Stephenie and myself. We were missing a few this year that couldn't make the trip. I am so thankful for the time I labored at UNF... I have been changed!
